23.01.2010 | Visit of veterans from Brno

On Saturday 23 January 2010 Air cafe was honoured by the visit of two last living RAF pilots in Brno – plk. Emil Boček – No. 310 squadron’s fighter pilot; and mjr. Milan Nechvátal – No. 310 and 312 squadron’s mechanic. With all the pleasure they signed all the autographs, books, photographs and things symbolizing their RAF membership. All listeners had the chance to hear their reminiscences and stories about their lives during and after the war. We ended up this terrific afternoon with a toast to wish them a great health and to see them many more times again soon!

07.03.2006 | Machine gun Browning in the Air Cafe

Air cafe gained an air-brake from the unknown German bomber to its collections. Thanks to our foreign partners we got the information that it is the German long-range aircraft FW – 200 “Condor” air-brake. Our Swedish colleague Mr Mikael (www.preservedaxisaircraft.com) contacted the Stiftung Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin (www.sdtb.de) where one of these extremely rare aircrafts is getting together piece by piece. After this the general of the project Mr Heiko Treisch contacted us with the offer of immediate surrender of our artefact. After refusing the fat prized offer we slightly offered the friendly artefact exchange of the air-brake for another RAF artefact. The word took the word and shortly Mr Heiko Treisch made a visit to Air cafe with the awesome RAF Browning 0.303in Machine Gun used on British bombers Avro Lancaster and he drove back to Berlin with pleasure of having the Condor air-brake. Also thanks to our little help the FW – 200 Condor will be soon introduced to the public in its beauty.
